pacifist priest. he was against war. During Nazi regime he was repeatedly
arrested. in 1943 he prepared a memorandum in which he discussed reorganisation
of German state with respect to world peace and sent it by courier
to Erling Eiden , Archbishop of Uppsala in Switzerlnad. But the courier
let him down. He was Gestapo informer. The letter never reached the
destination. METZEGER was arrested on 29 June 1943 by Nazis and he was tried at
people's court. Heb was sentenced to death and was executed on 17 April 1943.
