Axel Von Dem Bussche was a German army major from Wehrmacht
and was associated with nazi resistance.. He planned to assassinate Hitler
during inspection of new uniforms. He was associated with Col Claus Von
stauffenburg in the plan. However, the scheme did not materialize for
one reason or other. Bussche was more than two metres tall, handsome and blond
and was an ideal Aryan model for the new uniforms to be displayed to Hitler.He
planned to kill Hitlerr by carrying a
powerful explosive in his trousers with a timer. He wanted to try his plan in
Feb 1944, but in Jan 1944 , he was wounded in battle and lost one leg. He was
admitted in waffen Hospital and stayed there when the plot by Claus Stuffenburg failed to kill Hitler on 20 July
1944. Thus Bussche escaped arrest. His
plans of earlier days were not discovered and those who were arrested did not
betray him. Thus he survived sure execution and lived long after the war. He
was one of the very few survivors of Nazi resistance movement.
