Pencil sketch of an anti Nazi by Dr K Prabhakar Rao

MARTIN NIEMOLLER

He was a pastor who initially supported Hitler. Some of his writings were also reflected anti Jewish views. However, he became anti Nazi with interference of Nazism with the church. He was arrested and was fined. However Nazi senior Officer Rudolf Hess felt that the punishment was too lenient and thus he was confined. at a concentration camp for eight years from 1937 to 1945. He escaped execution narrowly. After the war, he was active as anti war spokes person and he also was for nuclear disarmament.
