GANDHARI FORT. This is an ancient fort  that was built during the rule of Kakateeyas at Warangal during 11..12centuries by the Gond king who ruled the province. It is located at Bokkalgutta on a hill thickly wooded in Adilabad district in Telangana state in India. The fort  was originally wasstrated during the rule of Rashtrakootas in 10 or 11 century.  The wort has made use of sand stony hill  for making it impregnable.  The area is full of medicinal herbs. The fort fell to a local king later whose inscriptions are there on walls. The fort passed later over to Golconda  kutubshahi sultans and then to Nizams of Hyderabad.  There is a  multi hooded sepent  carved in a single stone that is worshipped by tribals. A temple is constructed over it. Annually a festival is held at the fort to which people flock in thousands from  Telnagana, Bastar and ,  neighbouring states. As usual,  state govt neglects to maintain the fort.
